- Caption: Actor and writer Spalding Gray has been found dead, two months after going missing from his home in Long Island. Gray was found in the East River on Sunday night, after apparently committing suicide, although the cause of death is still being investigated. He was 62. Gray who had battled depression and physical discomfort was internationally hailed for his Obie-winning monologue, Swimming to Cambodia, in which he talked about his movie role in The Killing Fields.
