Eric Douglas, who is one of the sons of actor Kirk Douglas, and half brother of actor Michael Douglas, has been found dead in his apartment located at 10 East 29th Street in Kips Bay. The body was found in the apartment at about 1:15 Tuesday afternoon, on the floor of 14C. Police say the man was found unconcious on the living room floor. Officially the cause of death has not been released, however sources are telling Eyewitness News that it may have been an overdose. The medical examiner will be performing an autopsy. Eric Douglas had battled drug and alcohol problems for years. Though not as famous as his father or half-brother Michael, Eric Douglas made his share of headlines -- unfortunately, they almost exclusively involved arrests. His rap sheet included busts for allegedly driving under the influence, disrupting a commercial airline flight and harassing a 12-year-old girl at a Connecticut psychiatric and substance-abuse hospital, a charge which he was found innocent of during a jury trial.
