Britney Spears, Columbus Short, Madonna, The Cars, The Exit Photo - Britney Spears, who in recent reports has been romantically linked to her backup dancer Columbus Short, is working on her new album and a new video in New York. Spears and Short were seen leaving their Uptown hotel. After their car was garaged and pulled up as close as possible to the exit, Short got in the car first and hid himself just before Spears emerged from the hotel. On the way to a recording studio, the couple made unscheduled 30-minute stop at a Midtown restaurant. They played a mystery couple as Spears had the collar of her fur coat up, and Short threw the hood over his head. Just before Spears and Short left their hotel, Columbus Short was seen walking out with his assistant and was seen goofing with paparazzi. Short was also seen carrying a binder titled, "Me Against the Music." Earlier today, Madonna payed a visit to Spears. Madonna was seen arriving at the hotel and was seen escorted upstairs by Spears' bodyguard. Later, Madonna's assistant was seen having a cigarette with Spears' bodyguard. New York, October 1, 2003.
